Tens of thousands of Ukrainians who are currently fleeing war and destruction in their homeland are arriving in Germany every day in search of protection and safe accommodation. There is no end to the war in sight, and hundreds of thousands more people will have to flee to the West in the coming weeks.
The socially orientated housing companies are already supporting the needy people from Ukraine in many cases by offering accommodation on site and helping where they can. The need is particularly great among the many people whose belongings have been destroyed by the war and who are now left with nothing as a result of their flight. In order to help Ukrainians in need, the GdW Federal Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies, together with all regional associations of the socially oriented housing industry, has set up a donation campaign on the Aktion Deutschland Hilft platform. The aid organisation Aktion Deutschland Hilft is working tirelessly these days to help people who have lost their flats and homes as a result of the war in Ukraine. With this platform, we are sure that our help will get to where it is needed most.
